The CHRISTOPH DELZ FOUNDATION is based in Basel, Switzerland. Since 1998 it has held a triennial international competition for composers. The Foundation serves the aims stipulated by the Swiss pianist and pianist Christoph Delz before his death in 1993: to encourage contemporary composers to write serious art-music. The first prize combines an award of up to 50,000 Swiss Francs and a guaranteed first performance.
